Dear Uphill Pursuits Customers and Community,

All of us at Uphill Pursuits are fully cognizant of the current situation that is evolving on a day to day basis.  The COVID-19 virus is not something to be taken lightly and our decision to remain open is one that we have put much consideration into.  As part of our remaining open to serve our customers, we are implementing more strict cleaning and sanitization policies that align with current Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers.

Moving forward, we will not allow more than 10 total people in the shop at one time.  This includes our Uphill Pursuits staff. If you arrive and we have reached that limit, we will ask you to please wait outside or come back later.  We are aware that this can cause an inconvenience, but it is what we must do to ensure that we are creating the safest space possible for our customers and our staff.  If you are at all feeling sick, please do not come to shop and please stay home for the health of the community.

In addition, we will now have hand sanitizer at the front counter and will be asking all customers to please use it upon entering and leaving the store.  Staff will work to sanitize and disinfect the store daily and all demo equipment will be sanitized upon return.

We are very aware of where things are at and are meeting daily to reassess our decision to remain open.  We are staying on top of the recommendations from the CDC, Gallatin County/City Health Department and the City of Bozeman.  If at any point it is deemed necessary to cease operations, we will close our doors at that time. Until then, we want to remain a resource for people to access the outdoors in a responsible and socially conscious way. That said, we’ve been contemplating closing Sundays and have determined that now is a good time to do so. Starting this weekend, UP will be closed on Sundays through the shoulder season and likely through the summer. We’ll re-assess as time dictates. We understand the benefits to both your physical and mental health during this time of stress and change to normal routines and are working to keep options available to you.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask.  Please take care of yourselves, your friends and your family and be nice to each other as we are all in this together.  Finally, a huge thank you to all our customers, you are helping our staff to be able to continue to get through during these tough times.

Sincerely,

The Uphill Pursuits Staff
